Big Rock Campground is located near Washburn WI on the Sioux River, which is a Class A trout Stream. From intersection of State Hwy 13 & County C in Washburn, go 3 miles North on County Hwy C to Big Rock Rd. Big Rock Park is 1-1/2 mi. down that road.

(Be sure to enjoy the newest golf course in the area on your way back... you will pass it on Co. C, and take some time to enjoy the wonderful little city of Washburn with it's walking trail along the lake, museum, theatre, bakery, coffee shop, parks, campgrounds, bookstore, thrift store, restaurants, grocery, yarn/quilt shop, hardware store, plus more... oh & friendly people!)

Park in the small registration parking lot. Follow the chain link fence along the river's edge up through the camping area. When the fence ends, stay towards your left on the topside of the trail (closest to the campsites... it can be quite dangerous in some spots on the riverside, especially if wet and for small children). Pass campsite #1 and #2; follow the trail down the hill. At the bottom of the hill you will see a large old yellow birch tree on your left. Go about 18-20 normal walking steps. Look left. Find a hardwood tree with one trunk growing two tall children with one other small youngster behind it. Directly behind that is a huge magnificent red pine! Two moss covered boulders rest in the shade of these trees.

Where 'the boulders touch shoulders' they left just enough room underneath for 'a rainbow to run and hide'. Enjoy stamping in as you rest there and please be sure to replace the box carefully hiding with leaves, pine cones & such. Sitting there to rest allows you to be more discreet w/ stamping. (P.S. There is a gift for the first finder.)

If you have time, enjoy more of the park's trails.
