Walking distance: 1/3 mile loop
Trail difficulty: moderately easy; paved trail but some steps and ups and downs

NOTICE: clues slightly revised on April 7, 2014.

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in the Montezuma Well Unit of Montezuma Castle National Monument located in central Arizona. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and national monuments administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.

From I-17, take exit 293, drive east through the towns of McGuireville and Rimrock, and follow the signs to Montezuma Well. Park by the visitor contact station.

At the edge of the parking lot at the start of the trail in front of the visitor contact station is a large sign titled “Welcome To Montezuma Well”. In the 1st paragraph, in the 2nd line (starts with the words “you leads”, what is the last word in the line _____?

Continue walking on the trail and look for the interpretive sign titled “Community Lifeline”. In the 1st paragraph on the left (starts with the words “People understood”), in the 3rd line, what is the 4th word in the line _____?

To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html

Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Montezuma Castle Monument Webbox.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
