You can park your car at the corner of Hagerman's Landing Road and the big bend where Rocky Point Landing turns into Lower Rocky Point Road. Don't be gone too long, you might get a ticket.
Rocky Point Cliffs Nature Preserve entrance is across from Hillcrest on Hagerman's Landing Road. The entrance may be blocked by shrubs and pricker bushes when summer is in full swing.
Upon entering, you will see 5 wooden pillars, go past them and up the hill.
You will get to a large downed tree with the stump still in the ground. You can go under or to the left and around.
With your back to the stump, take 9 paces. You will come to a fork in the path. Take the path less traveled (left), it will make all the difference.
Go 18 paces on path less traveled. There is a downed tree off the path and to the right. It has very light-colored bark.
The base of the tree splits off into 3 pieces. The letterbox is covered with lots of sticks and underneath the split.
You won't need too much stealth. Not too many people go into these trails, but please cover the letterbox as best as you can.
Get back to your car before you get a ticket!
This box was placed by Cat&Mom to earn a Girl Scout Brownie Badge.
Enjoy!!!
