This letterbox is located on Big Crow Mountain. The trailhead begins at the end of Otoole Lane in the town of Keene, NY, which is a dirt road. The letterbox is on Big Crow Mtn, but if you want you can also continue on the Little Crow Mtn after you find the letterbox. From the road to Big Crow is 0.7 miles, and from the road to Big Crow then Little Crow is 1.4 miles. I think this is correct, but I know that it is mostly correct. I might be off by just 0.1 miles, and if I am, please just email me. Anyway, if you are a part of Treasure Hikers or the NY Letterbox Challenge, you can get 1.4 miles on this LB. Anyway, the trail to Big Crow is moderate but short, and steep towards the top. It is a lovely hike and it will probably take you 2 hours at the very most. This box is actually very funny because the stamp is a tree that looks like a Weeping Willow and Weeping Willows require lots of water, but there is very little water on mountain tops.

Clues:
When you reach the top of Big Crow, you will see a big cairn. A cairn is a small pile of rocks that are stacked on top of each other. They are like trail markers, and are used in rocky areas when there is nothing to nail a trail marker to. Anyway, go to the big cairn. The cairn I speak of is the one in the picture. When you reach the cairn, turn so that the cairn is on your right. In front of you you will see Hurricane Mountain. It is the 72 highest peak in the Adirondacks. You can recognize Hurricane Mtn because it has a fire tower on top. Currently, the fire tower is no longer being used by DEC. To the left of you are 3 evergreens all bunched together. They are approximately 13 steps away. Go to them. Actually, they are 2 trees, but one is double-trunked. Under a rock, at the base of the 1-trunked evergreen, you will find your prize. PLEASE RE-HIDE WELL. Enjoy!

Hike Length: 1.4 Miles
