This letterbox was the first project that our Brownie troop did to earn a badge! We are very enthusiastic about being Girl Scouts, so this is a bit different from a typical letterbox. We left its finders a copy of the Girl Scout Promise and Law and each of us wrote our thoughts about what they mean to us. Our stamp is a 3 leaf clover, which represents the prominent "trefoil" symbol for Girl Guides and Scouts all over the world (WAGGGS). It represents the 3 parts of the Promise that we recite, which are serving God and our country, helping people at all times, and living by the Girl Scout Law.

Go to Central Park in Doylestown and start your quest for "Girl Scout Values" at the Lenape Indian plaque and follow the path toward the Kid's Castle. As you pass the castle, continue your journey up the pathed hill to a bench on your right after the "no - this and that" sign. Take the trail straight into the woods, heading toward the North.

As you trek up the hilly trail, you will come to a bench carved from a tree on your left. From that point, continue 48 paces (1 count for every other step) ahead, toward the North, until you come to a trail on the left marked by a short 4x4 post and a tree carved with "LZ (heart) (infinity sign) PH". Turn left, now walking toward the West.

Stop at the end of the park bench on your left. Now continue 3 more paces and turn to your left 90 degrees/9 o'clock. Carefully proceed 13 paces (Southwest) through and between the small trees, until you are standing by a tree stump and its broken trunk lying on the ground beside/in front of it. When you look inside the hollow Southwest end of the fallen tree trunk, you will find "Girl Scout Values".

Fitting everything back into our letterbox will be tricky because it is a tight fit, but please do your best to preserve what will always be one of our favorite Girl Scout troop memories. We hope that our words bring a smile to your face!
