Susans Creek Nature Preserve is located on US 31 North of Charlevoix. There is a very small parking area and a two track that leads to the trail head.
Once you reach the trailhead at Susans Creek Nature Preserve, take the blue trail. From the sign take the trail approximately 82 steps to a large tree on the right. Keep following the trail another 28 steps or so. Look right in the distance and notice that giant gnarly tree stump. Look under massive pieces of birch bark at its base. Please recover well.
