Undine Cemetery Graveyard Walk......

Undine Cemetery, Hayes Township - Est. 1863

Lots of history with Undine. Be sure to look up the info or go to the Charlevoix Historical Society and they have so much history on this unique town and region.

This is my first letterbox and located in Undine Cemetery which is between Charlevoix and Horton Bay on the Boyne City Rd. About 6 miles out of Charlevoix on the Boyne City Road you will see the Undine Nature Preserve on your left going east. Next to this is the Undine Cemetery which you will turn into and follow the "One Way" sign, by the big boot, (left). Go up the little hill then down half way and turn right on first road to right and park and get out. Looking up the cemetery hill you will see a Big Rock to your left atop the hill marked "Green". Go up there. Walk to the West to the bench and there is a tall stone: Waren Willis-1834-1904. Now face West again and walk to the steps. Walk down the steps and turn north and take about 13 wide steps and stop. Look to your left and you will see a Rock with the name Victor Kantola - "Their Freed Spirits Live On in the Rivers and the Skies"........to the right of the stone is a big tree and today had a smiley rock face stuck between two of the trunks. Back side of tree under some old fence and rocks is the Letterbox.

Sign the pad inside the box and take a little smiley rock out if you like and hope you walk away with a smile to your face.

Thanks........
Smiles
