As we traveled through a once familiar, yet now unfamiliar, land, we stopped at a place that promised great things. Here we left a series of boxes to pay honor to that promise.

The first offering is planted along the trail that shares its name with the most notable local feature. Follow the trial to the right and wander through some streets stamped with dates from as far back as the late 1800s. Continue and follow a staircase down and back to solid ground to see a tree growing up rocks on the left. Count 17 steps from the roots, downhill along the trail, to a large boulder on the right. Search behind it, wedged between two rocks, to find your pint-sized prize.

As you return to your car, do not move it, but continue to the left along the main road to a 'T' intersection. Follow the road to the left and enter a new county. Soon you will come to a bridle trail. Follow it NW into the woods, over/through a river, and up the hill. As you round a bend, you'll see a small 'wall' lining the right side of the trail. Check under some rocks, about half way up the wall's back, to find a snack for you and any number of friends who might want to join the company.

Continue up the hill, past a pony and a blue 'eye'. The trail will level, a bit, as you pass rock outcropping and boulders. Eventually you will reach an outcropping that towers over the left side of the trail. At the 'Y' tree that is tucked between the two halves and close to the trail, go another 17 steps to where you are standing on a large flat rock in the trail. At 250 degrees, there is a formation that rises 5ft from the ground. Look under the front 'lip' at the NW end under a pile of rocks for the sign of a group that thinks it might be in the right place.

From here, turn around or follow a trial map back to your car. We hope you enjoyed your search.
