Schrier Park is located on Ousterhaut Rd. in Portage, MI. This wonderful park contains a playground, restrooms, picnic tables, hiking trails, ball fields, etc. My family loves to spend time here. It's beautiful all year round, so bring your camera!

Every picnic needs the Perfect Companion. To find your companion, enter the trail near the bi-wheeled transport prison. Head towards the woods. Use the Asphalt Loop to the right/East. Do not go through the fence opening. No resting yet! At the choice, do not veer; take the left path. Pass 82 on the right.

Where 3 fence segments fail to meet, stand in the first opening. Face 210 degrees. See the large one straight ahead with the dead remains at the base? Take 36 steps. X marks the spot.

Please reseal all bags and containers carefully and rehide better than you found. Thanks!

Need a Kool Refreshing Drink? Go back to the trail and continue in the same direction as before. There are fallen ones on the left. Take the path to the right. If you reach 83, you missed the turn. At the T, there is a bench. Go right.

No Woodchip Trail at this time. See the 17 on the left. Take the left trail that goes nowhere. At the very end, head 250 degrees. Step over the large fallen one. Where the second large fallen one rests against a small, tall one you will find a Kool refreshing drink. Please reseal all bags and containers carefully and rehide better than you found. Thanks!

To find the Teddy Bear's Picnic. return to the main paved trail, now taking the primary path headed north. At the large circle, take the wood chip trail at 130 degrees. Pass 86 on the left. See the bumpy, tall twisty one on the right. Where two fallen meet to the southwest is a perfect place for a Teddy Bear's picnic. Please reseal all bags and containers carefully and rehide better than you found. Thanks!

To return to the parking area, follow the path. Go right. Pass 85 on the left. At the pavement take the path to the left. Follow the signs to the picnic pavilion.
