The Confucius Institute is the result of a partnership between Beijing Normal University and the University of Oklahoma. It hosts lectures and events, and sponsors a number of Chinese language programs and educational travel opportunities. At OU-Tulsa, it's also the home of the lovely garden that houses this letterbox.
To begin with, find the American flag (not the OU flag) in the center of the north side of campus. Be sure to admire the garden there, named after the first president of OU-Tulsa, Ken Lackey. Now face south and cross the driveway at the crosswalk. There you'll see a plaque with the official seal of the University of Oklahoma, including the Seed Sower! (If you haven't found the Seeds of Knowledge box yet, you'll find out more about the Seed Sower there).
Now face west and head downhill on the sidewalk. At the corner of the sidewalk, you'll see a very positive tree, dedicated to the second OU-Tulsa president. Turn left, staying on the sidewalk, and then turn left again as soon as the sidewalk does. Go past the building whose insides are showing, and you'll see a peaceful place to sit and contemplate the day's letterboxing. But don't stop yet--just past the garden there's a low stone wall. If you sit on the wall (be careful; some of the stones are very loose) and stretch out your left hand, you should almost be able to grasp the Box of Wisdom. It is hidden only by nature: blades of grass, a stone, and some leaves.
NOTE: Please be discreet and rehide this box carefully. This area doesn't get a lot of traffic, but there are office windows all around. The landscaping crews know it's there and will leave it alone, but curious university staff are another matter.
