Elkin's Flour Mill

---The Elkins flour mill was built between 1871 and 1878 by Thomas J. Hannah. In 1994 the Linn Benton Community College acquired the property.

1. Drive to the Lebanon campus of LBCC.
2. Park in front of LXC.
3. Walk to mill.
4. Walk around to the back of the mill. Take notice of the big bay door on the back of the building and the three rows of windows.
5. Read the sign located at the front of the mill.
6. Look under stairs.
7. Drive to library.
Santiam School Park

---Lebanon's first school was started in 1852 In a log cabin. Both Jeremiah Ralston And Morgan Kees donated 5 acres each to expand the school. Then it was demolished in 1936 some remains were used to build a girl scout building at Queen Anne Elementary, which closed in 2002.

1. Park in library parking lot.
2. Go to entrance of library.
3. Turn right walk tell Y in the road. At Y take a left continue straight to main sidewalk.
4. Take left on sidewalk.
5. Walk around and read cement block.
6. Walk to bench behind the block.
7. Rest!
8. Take left on sidewalk in front of bench.
9. Walk to end of sidewalk and turn left.
10. The box is between the bush and the two trees.

The Club/Old library/Lebanon Hospital

---Lebanon’s first hospital was established in a house in 1913. This building was built in 1936 as the Lebanon General Hospital, as can still be seen wearing through on the cornerstone. The building became the Lebanon Public Library in 1952 after a new hospital was built.

1. Start at Vine and Second.
2. Walk to the Presbyterian church on the corner of First Street.

----Lebanon’s First Presbyterian Church was established in 1881. This church building was built in 1912 and is still home to its intended congregation.

3. Continue down Second St across Ash St.
4. Read sign by the benches.
5. Take a drink of water at water fountain.
6. Go over to the bike ramp on the other side of the stairs.
7. Read general hospital sign.
8. Go to the Christmas tree and look for the box.

Jan’s Books Store

---This one-story building was built in 1910 and features an elegant storefront with arched windows.

1. Walk from The Club to Sherman St. and Second St.
2. Look straight ahead and the big white house is the Donaca house.
3. To the right of it is the Train Station.

---The Santiam Travel Station is the former Southern Pacific Railroad depot in Lebanon. The Albany-Lebanon Railroad was completed in September 1880, and a depot was built north of Sherman Street. In October 1880, the Southern Pacific Railroad was taken over by the Oregon & California Railroad. On May 12, 1887 Pacific Railroad took over the Oregon & California Railroad. A new depot was built in 1908, to Southern Pacific’s design number 23. This is the depot that is now the Santiam Travel Station.

4. Cross Second St. and turn left on Sherman.
5. Once you are across the street walk straight to Jan’s book store.
6. Behind the counter is the safe to the old bank that once used to be there.
7. Ask for the letter box.

The King's Coffee Shop

---The Lebanon Hotel was built in 1913. It originally had a mansard roof with dormer windows giving it another story of height. This structure was removed at some point, leaving the building with its current appearance. The hotel is no longer operating, although many historical parts of the lobby were preserved, including the woodwork, staircase and functional switchboard.

1. Walk to South Main
2. Turn left on South Main
3. Cross the street
4. Continue left and walk to the coffee shop on S. Main
5. Walk to the bottom of the stairs and see what the original lobby and dinning hall looked like.
6. Walk into the dinning hall and look around.
7. Go back into main lobby of coffee shop and check out the old switchboard.
8. Sit down by the table and find the letterbox.
Note: Their fall hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm
Saturday 9 am – 3 pm Closed Sunday

Stainthorpe’s Music

---Andrews & Hackleman Building. This building was built in 1886. A second floor window features the symbol of the Freemasons, suggesting that the second floor may have been a Freemason hall.

1. Cross to the other side of the road .
2. Walk two blocks down to the music store.
3. Ask for Gary or Shirley. They will give you the letterbox.
Note: The hours are 10 AM – 5 PM Monday – Friday.

Mural Park

---The Oregon Mural Park is on the site of the old Lebanon Post Office. This was previously the site of a restaurant that burned to the ground in the late 1980s, leaving only the back wall. The now vacant lot contains a totem pole, with murals painted on the walls of the surrounding buildings.

1. Continue on the other side of Main St.
2. Walk until you are at Mural Park.
3. Read words on the front of the totem pole if you dare. It is very shaky.
4. Admire Mural Park.
5. For the stamp, look under the skunk.
6. Exit park through the back entrance.

Ralston Park

---Jeremiah and Jemima Ralston built a home at the corner of Park and Maple Streets. The house was demolished in the 1950s. Today this block is a 2.49 acre city park called Ralston Square, dedicated December 23, 1974.

1. Turn right.
2. Turn left on one way street.
3. Cross the street to Ralston Park.
4. Enter the park from the left side near fire hydrant.
5. Take a right gravel path, and then read the sign.
6. Take a left on the sidewalk.
7. Read the flag pole, and then walk through rose garden.
8. Follow the sidewalk left, and then walk left to the sign in front of the tree.
9. Read the sign in front of the stage.
10. Look for the stamp around the sign.

Llama Store

---This building was built in 1946. It is owned by the Lebanon Elks. It was home of the City of Lebanon Senior Center since the mid-1970s until the new Senior Center opened at Academy Square in 2005.

1. From Ralston Park turn left on Park Street
2. Walk past East Ash Street
3. On that block there is a blue and white big building. Go inside.
4. Walk under the arch.
5. In the front of the store there are shelves with displays on them. The letterbox is on the left side of the second shelf.

Lebanon Pioneer Cemetery

---Lebanon Pioneer Cemetery was established by the First Methodist Church in 1850, when thirteen-year-old Sarah Settle became the first to be buried here, on land donated by Jeremiah Ralston. Ralston and his wife Jemima were later buried here as well. The cemetery contains the remain of 310 people, though only 79 markers remain.

1. Read sign about the history of the cemetery.
2. Find the headstone of the first person buried in the cemetery.
3. Find Ralston's family plot.
4. Find Elkin's headstone.
5. Find Kees headstone.
6. Letter box is hidden in a tree stump.
