Note: When we checked on this letterbox July, 2005 the box was still under 4 feet of snow and on our return in the middle August we moved the box to it's present location and changed the clues to reflect it's new location.

Now look, we all need a vacation and the Head Master of Hogwart’s is no exception. With the last of his students finally off and his staff of Professors on their summer hiatus, Albus Dumbledore needed a real vacation after the tumultuous climax of the last term at Hogwart’s. With Harry Potter back with the Dursley's for the summer he felt he could relax for a bit. The Ministry of Magic approved a leave of absence and provided a tidy little bonus so; leaving Hagrid in charge of the school, Albus booked a commercial broom flight to Medford to attend the Wizard’s Conference at the Cinder Cone Celestial Resort for Wizards and Witches. He met old school chums, parents of many of his previous students and not by accident made a reacquaintance with a witch with whom he found many mutual interests. Albus and the fetching Merriam Skell did some hiking through the Cloudcap, moonlight sailing on the Phantom Ship and made observations of Mars in retreat with his telescope.

The Resort is located in a high forest on an ancient and special island surrounded by the
deepest moat in the United States. Near the Resort are the headwaters for the Rascal River that has its outlet at Brilliant Yellow Metal Beach. Secret passages and tubes abound at the Resort. Some of the passages speed travel to various destinations in the U.S. Albus and Merriam used one of the travel tubes to weekend "Tour" on the coast of California and enjoyed surfing the coastal waters. Their weekend through, they set about to re-enter the secret entrance to the Island Resort and realized their key was missing. It must have been lost while "Touring" the coast!

Now Muggles have seen the island from the rim and have even traveled a mile down on foot to the moat and in the summer can take a boat ride on the moat and walk on the Cinder Cone but without the proper key cannot see the Resort because it remains invisible. To find the key you must go surfing on the Coast and spin your web to catch the clues. Many Boxers know of the keys, a Buzzard, a California Bear, a Green Tortuga and Fair Lady from Seattle but the Holder of these keys is from Kernville Ca. Some time ago Adventureseeker joined the list of finders as did a Dustbunnie.

After obtaining the key, you must pay a toll to enter the realm of the Deep Blue Moat.
With map in hand head to the closest over look to the Cinder Cone Resort.(THE ISLAND) To get there you must pass by the Watchman who sees all.
Find your key Before you go. Note: 9/10/14 Since this box has had few visitors and the entire site is very cool, I will give you a clue. The code is Line, word, letter. Contact me if you need more help.

From the sign go to the end of the wall at 220 degrees. From the end of the wall go 40 paces at 315 degrees to the first prone log on your right and you will see Albus searching for his missing key under some bark and under the log.

I would like to know if you found the box. Gwen
