Letterbox @ Rochester Hills Museum

Not only is this a fun place to visit for the museum and activities, this is a lovely place to picnic. It seems more private than other parks and still within walking distance of downtown. So pack up your sandwiches and head north! And when you’re done have a dip in the river.

Directions:

From the main entrance don’t go straight but follow the curved lot around to the north parking lot. Walk towards the museum and look in the windows at all of the history of Rochester! If you’re lucky enough you might arrive on a day to visit the museum so check out the times they are open and bring a few dollars! http://www.rochesterhills.org/city_services/museum/overview.asp

Walk south and roll down the hill to the gazebo where you should dance with your favorite friend. You must be tired after all that dancing, so walk NE by following your nose to the herb garden. Watch where you step or you will meet Ribbit the frog!

Time for a picnic! Head southwest and cross the bridge. Under the bridge the water is cool on your feet. So come back later to cool off. To the river and enjoy your picnic. Once your tummy is full head North until you see a mini mansion for birds. Travel up the path with the normal stones and down again on the bumpy.

Find a path from where you stand to lead you to another land. You wont go far just look for 2 stones and up and around the tree you will find your treasure!

I hope you had fun! For more history and information check this site out: http://www.thebarnjournal.org/stories/story014/index.html
