On Rt. 9 at Little Tannery Rd., just south of the center of Chestertown, is the Chester Rural Cemetery “Leggetts”. The first burial here was in 1795. Prior to that it was the Leggett homestead and a station on the underground railroad.
Enter through the only entrance and turn right on Rural Ave. Park under the Smith trees. Stand by mother facing Rt. 9. Look at William M. Edgerton, then look to the tree beyond. The daisy is hiding there. Cover well. There’s not much camouflage around but the “box” is small.
