Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Microbox: 1/4 mile oneway
Status of Microbox: Alive and Well on 3/10/2008
The "Light Catcher" microbox can be found in the City of Corpus Christi Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, near Lake Corpus Christi State Park. This roadside park is rustic, but nice.
Directions:
From Mathis and I-37, go southwest on Hwy 359 to Park Road 25. Turn right and go about 1 mile to parking area on the left.
To the Microbox:
From the sign, take the wide trail south, past a large rock pile on the right, to a large tree with 4 forks in the middle of the path. The trail narrows here, and continues on to the left of the tree. Your goal is the tree itself. The Microbox is hidden in the middle of the four forks of the tree, covered with leaves and a rock. After getting your stamp you may want to walk a little farther on the trail for some nice views of marsh area.
