Status of Letterbox: Stamp is missing - 6/8/2004
The "Music Man" letterbox is located in Lake Corpus Christi State Park, north of Corpus Christi, Texas. The park features camping, fishing, picnicking, and swimming.
Directions:
From I-37 in Mathis, go southwest on Hwy 359. Turn right on Park Road 25 (signs for park also)and go to park entry. Once past the headquarters, take the first right and go to the picnic area at the far end of this road. When you reach the end loop, park at west side.
To the letterbox:
From the west side of the loop (where side road heads off to dead end)locate the large tree to the northwest with has a large spanish dagger plant growing behind it, and a smaller one to the right. From the road edge, go 11 paces tot he west side of the tree (will have to wade through some tall grass, but clears under tree. Box is at base of the tree with rocks on top.
