This box is missing as of 7/18/14. We will post when replaced.

Remember that Hurricane Mountain Road is closed in winter!

This is the first letterbox stamp carved by Mrs. Mad Doctor.

This clue is given assuming you have climbed to the top of Black Cap.

Head up Hurricane Mountain Road to the TNC (The Nature Conservancy) parking area for the Black Cap Trail. Head up the trail to the top,and enjoy the views. When you are done, head back down the trail towards the parking area on Hurricane Mountain Road. Continue down for approximately 13 minutes (as if you are towing a 7 and a 9 year old), to a sign that states TNC Black Cap Mtn. Trail - Black Cap Mtn. 0.4, Peaked Mtn. 3.5, Middle Mtn. 5.5 Hurricane Mtn. Road 0.7.

Standing at this sign, take the trail at 260 degrees. Continue down hill on slab rock. Standing on the first (and only) rock step down, take a compass reading and find 300 degrees. About 30 feet away on this heading, see a stump about 4 feet high. Continue on the path you were on about 8 single steps, then head off the trail to the stump.

Your treasure is in the stump's hollow, at the base of the stump, covered by some rotten wood.
