Trail difficulty: fairly easy; it is a dirt trail with a few ups & downs.

Walk distance: short

Stamp hand-carved

This letterbox is in Cumberland Mountain St. Prk. which is on U. S. Highway 127 south of Crossville. Enter the park, drive to the restaurant, and park in the lot there.

Walk back (north) to the west end of the large stone bridge. On the north side of the road is the entrance to the Cumberland Plateau Trail. Start walking north on the trail and keep to the left. Cross a stream bed. From #3, continue up the trail a little ways. On the right side of the trail is an about 5 ½ ft. high vertical stump. There is a downed log that touches the base of the stump. The box is at the north end of the horizontal log.

The standing stump has deteriorated, but the letterbox can still be found in the debris. If you reach trail marker #4, you have gone too far.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please make sure the lid is on tight. Please rehide the box well under twigs and other plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Contact me if the box needs attention or is missing:
