This is one in a series of boxes planted in the state game lands of northeastern Pennsylvania. If you seek this box, please be aware of hunting seasons. I recommend wearing blaze orange any time of year. I don't recommend seeking this box during deer season, except on Sundays.

State Game Lands 211 is an enormous tract of land located in Dauphin, Lebanon, and Schuylkill Counties. The area you want is in the eastern section of the SGL. From Swatara State Park on PA-443 near Suedberg, head north on Gold Mine Road. Up and down the switchbacks. After about 2.8 miles, you will see State Game Lands parking lots on either side of the road. Take the one on your left, and park as close to the end of the lot as you like.

This is a very popular section of this game land. The rail trail you’ll be on is very nice, and is part of popular trail loops.

Clues:

* From the parking lot, head southwest on the railroad bed.

* Pass the stone arrows on your right. (Feeling hungry for cookies right now?)

* About 1.5 miles in or so, you’ll come to a wide trail on your left. Take this trail up the hill.

* Before long, the trail will fade and turn right. At this point, look straight ahead and you’ll see a yellow “L”.

* From the L, 10 paces at 150* to a flat wide rock.

* Look behind the rock.

Please rehide well.
