Alien Invasion

Max and Nate were playing t-ball in the back yard. The boys would hit the ball and Riley Dog would field. Max was up to bat. “CRACK!!!” went the ball. Riley Dog ran and ran and caught the ball mid-air. Wagging his tail, he returned the ball to the two boys.

Then Nate was up at bat. “CRACK!!!!” The ball went so high into the sky that the boys could not see it. Even Riley Dog was confused on its location. They waited for it to fall from the sky….

Suddenly an alien came down with the ball in hand. Max & Nate froze and Riley growled. “Hello, Earthlings. Do not be afraid. I just need help finding a place to hide my spaceship. Can you help me?”

Riley Dog looked at the boys and they all agreed to help. They asked the cat next door if she had any ideas of where to hide the space shuttle. Cat did not, but she suggested asking the bird on the porch.

They went and asked the bird who lived under the porch. He agreed to show them where some of his friends hang out regularly.

Mr. Bird took them to Audubon to a place where he said was a retreat for birds. Many humans travel here from all over the east coast. Mr. Bird warned the boys that they should use quiet voices not to disturb the birds.

As they pulled in the main driveway, they admired the shade of the beautiful trees on either side of the driveway. The boys parked their bikes in the main parking lot and looked around the area. There were many places to hide, but what would be the best place!?

The boys walked up the hill towards a pavilion. They walked right through the middle of the pavilion and checked out the fans on the ceiling. As they reached the other side they saw adorable bird hotels and several sets of picnic tables.

The alien encouraged them to find a place that would be well hidden. They walked towards the left and approached a set of 3 picnic tables with a fence behind them.

Suddenly there were tons of birds flying over them. Mr. Bird introduced them to his bird friends.

Max asked the birds, “Will you help protect our spaceship?”
“Tweet! Tweet!” they all responded as they shook their head.

One of them showed the boys a secret spot behind the fence. They hid the spaceship on the left of a mini-trail, immediately on the left. They put a SPOR to cover the ship.

“Thank you!” said the alien. I truly appreciate your help.
