I am so sorry that this time it appears that it was intentionally destroyed. I will replace when I can figure out how and where to place it so that it is not easily discovered and destroyed.
Zumbrota #1 – The Covered Bridge
Zumbrota is a great town with lots of hidden treasures. The first gem in this series is Zumbrota’s Covered Bridge. The Covered Bridge story is located in the letterbox, with additional details available at the Zumbrota Area Historical Society.
To find this box, find yourself on Zumbrota Main Street. Stop in at Bridget’s Café for coffee and a Special K Bar – a food group in and of itself. All the local shops are really neat. From Bridget’s front door, facing the street, proceed 2 blocks to your right. Cross Main Street as you turn left (West) onto Second Street. Take an immediate right ( not the gas station, silly bird) into the Library and City Hall cul-de-sac. Visit the bronzed children and the covered bridge and read about it on the markers. DO NOT try to go down to the river – there is not a safe path available. Wander through the bridge and look out the windows. Return out of the bridge walking south. To your right there are 2 pine trees. The letterbox is located IN one of these trees.
Please replace the box exactly where you found it so that it is out of the way of the lawn mowers etc.
