Seamon Park is a very small but spectacular park! Parts of this may seem like someone's yard but this has been a public park for more then 50 years. Permission was given to plant the box. It is open to all until 9 p.m. Sorry, no dogs in the park.

Head to the top to see the view and possibly many flowers too. From here you will see a gazebo and an arch to walk through.

Stop at the foot of the furthest set of steps. Look at the large three trees on the right. Behind the middle one under rocks is the box. Please be careful while stamping not to be seen and rehide using the stones that you removed to find it.

Go back to the Pavilion and have a picnic then play at the playground! I hope you found all the boxes at this park!

Terrain: Easy road side stop. Enjoy the flowers! Some short inclines. Occasionally a wedding/prom photo shoot will be here.

Best Times to Visit: Just before sunset on a clear day; and/or when your favorite flowers bloom (about 30 minutes with the drive from Tpk).

Directions to the Park:

From the New York State Thruway (easiest approach):

Get off of exit 20 Saugerties. Driving east on Rte. 212; it is busy here with lights; go straight. Follow signs to Saugerties. Then go over the railroad tracks and continue going straight for 2 lights about 1/2 mile. At the second light after the tracks, you will need to choose right or left. Going left it is the easiest way. This is Market St. Make the second right onto Finger St. staying on this road until the end (you will need to cross Washington Ave. As Finger St continues on the other side for another 1/2 mile). At the end is Malden Ave and Seamon Park. There is a sign directing you where to park. Park there.

From Taconic State Parkway:

Get off the Red Hook exit taking 199. Go through Red hook and follow the signs to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Take the first right after getting off the bridge. This is Rte 32. Take a right heading into Saugerties. 32 north is a winding country road, stay on it for about 5 mins. This road meets up with Rte. 9W at a light. Bear right on 9W. Go straight through one light passed the "Welcome to Saugerties" sign. You will take 4 sharp turns and up a steep hill to a light. Go right at the light following the signs for 9W. There will be a sharp turn left. On the right just before a small bridge is the turn into Seamon Park. Park there.

Hike length: 0.1 miles
