Fairy of the Dunes- Pinery Aug 2009, Hand carved by Cori age 6, but planted 2wks before turning 8. We stayed in the Dunes camping site 178. It rained & was hot hot hot. Loved it. Need bug spray. Please bring ink pad & something to write with.
drive- Go to the Dunes area 3 restrooms.(has showers/laundry). Go behind: see the white elephant cage. Cross the dirt road. Seek a hidden path on the right. Trek up that steep sand sloop to the tangled roots at the top. Here in these roots the fairy of the dunes hides. Wedge her back safely so the rain & winter snows wont wash her a away. Please let the mouse troop know if she needs any re-pairs, she is very important to our family.
