Gerald Freeman Campground
This is the Best Campground in the world. I have been coming here for about 10 years now. I think it is the best because it is kid friendly they have nice new playgrounds. I love to go swimming off the banks and not have to worry about the boats. I love the fishing here you can fish all along the banks from one end to the other. They have a nice Snak Shak there up on the hill they cook everything Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Oh Yeah they have Ice cream too!! They have a pool table, a table with a puzzle set up on it, and checkers. They also rent boats. They have a small amount of groceries and camping items there if they don’t have it you can check at their larger store just down the road from the main gate. The owners are great people. Well now let me tell you how to get to this great place.
From Charleston take I-79 North 67 miles take Exit 67 Flatwoods turn right go to light turn right take 1st left onto Sutton Lane go to Days Dr turn right go up the hill drive about 2 miles to “Stop Sign” turn left onto US Rt 15 follow this road for approx 10 miles to entrance of campground on right just past the little store Kanawha Run Trading Post .
From Clarksburg take I-79 South about 60 miles turn left go to light turn right take 1st left onto Sutton Lane go to Days Dr turn right go up the hill drive about 2 miles to “Stop Sign” turn left onto US Rt 15 follow this road for approx 10 miles to entrance of campground. Now To Find The Box.
Look for the 20 mile speed limit sign stand at the sign facing the left side of road walk 11 paces (2 steps = 1 pace)to big pine tree turn right you will see some rocks count 10 paces stop turn go left 3paces the rock on the right with a log behind it . The box is under the back edge of rock covered. Please hide back carefully. Don’t forget to check out Gerald freeman Campground.
