Directions:
Off & south of Rte 117, Great Road, near Stow Shopping Center, Follow Bradley Lane to the end.
Park in the large dirt parking lot.
Tweety-Tweet Twail Letterbox (12/19/11: This letterbox was found & returned to us ... will be replaced soon! At that time, this message will be removed. Follow this trail & continue on to the other 3 letterboxes.)
1) From Bradley Lane Trailhead, enter the woods on the Blue-blazed Trail to the right of the kiosk.
2) Continue going right over the footbridge.
3) At the ‘Y’ intersection, bear left. Make sure that you are still on the Blue Trail.
4) At the next unmarked path that forms a ‘Y’ with the Blue Trail, stay to the left, so you continue further on the Blue Trail.
5) Stay on the blue trail until you turn right onto the White Trail.
6) Continue straight past a small trail that comes in from the right.
7) At the fork, bear right to stay on the White Trail.
8) When you pass another trail that comes in from the right, start counting your paces.
9) At about 35-40 paces, on your left, you will see a fallen log with two parallel short logs that are in front of the longer log.
10) Look between the two smaller logs and you will find the Tweety-Tweet Twail letterbox. Please remember to pack it back up & hide it where you found it.
Flower Pot Letterbox
1) From the Tweety-Tweet Twail letterbox, continue on the White Trail until it meets the Blue Trail, at which point you should take the Blue Trail to the left.
2) At the fork, bear left to stay on the Blue Trail.
3) From the v-shaped tree in the middle of the fork, count 50 paces.
4) Look to your left and find the widest tree which is about 10 feet from the trail.
5) Look around the root base of that tree for the next letterbox, Flower Pot.
Slam Dunk Letterbox
1) From Flower Pot letterbox, continue on the Blue Trail.
2) Take the first unmarked trail on the left, and head towards the steep hill.
3) After about 25 ft, bear right.
4) After the fork, go approximately 15 paces and look in the base of the tree to your left for Slam Dunk, the third letterbox.
Fresh Air Letterbox
1) After Slam Dunk, continue up the trail (moderate –> strenuous) to the top.
2) When you come to the large rock in the middle of the trail, go 15 paces at 135° to the double trunk tree.
3) Look around the base of that tree for the final letterbox, Fresh Air.
Congrats! You have found all four of our letterboxes. Explore the Stow Town Forest some more if you’d like. To head back to the Bradley Lane parking area, head generally straight-ahead, down the hill & towards the left.
Hope you had fun on this hike!
