Four miles from the harbor light lies a respite on the road to Phoenix. This is where your search begins. A watchtower rises from this site; from its vantage you may survey the forests, the sea. These hills have been roamed by the wolves for moons untold and now it is your time to explore.
So many places to hide in this clearing. . . a spring, a bridge, the trees. . . From this high point, you must find the sheltered shelter, nestled 'neath a great white pine.
The table here will serve you well, but not before you've found the prize. From the shelter's north side, count six paces on this tack, each one measuring two footfalls, where you will come to a fallen tree. Look carefully left until your eyes come to rest on a tri-forked tree. At its base you will find your bounty; leave your mark and then take mine.
When you are done, rehide me well, that those who come after may find me.
