A nice diversion on your bike ride down Milestone Road to the pretty village of Sconset. Turn onto Tom Nevers Road and peddle to the very end (about 2 miles). This is the site of the old navy base which was used as a SOSUS station during the cold war (Sosus means SOund SUrveillance System) in military speak.) Now the old base is owned by the town and has ball fields and a playground. There is a round hill in the middle of the first field.
Go to the base of the hill to the monument at the entrance. Stand in front of the monument facing the hill and put your arm out at a 45 degree angle. The treasure you seek is just a few feet away under a flat rock.
Please return and cover everything carefully.
Enjoy!
