The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost for none now live to remember it. Your journey begins at the covered bridge at Devil’s Hopyard where you will follow the orange trail taking you to the ruins of Lothlorien - the Golden Wood of Galadriel and the fairest Elf Kingdom in Middle Earth. Many tall pines and fallen debris remain here from times of old. Galadriel and her kin have long ago left these lands to take the ships from the Grey Havens to the Aman, the Undying Lands. Follow the orange trail in a south easterly direction through the ruins and up the very steep hill, enjoying the songs of the Great River, Anduin, rushing below. Your journey does not end here, though. You are looking to find Rohan, home of the Horse Lords and the ancient royal city, Edoras, where Eowyn, the Shield Maiden of Rohan, once lived. The orange trail will lead you to spot where you’ll see an arrow on the tree pointing left. The path you take will be right, up a short rocky climb on the unmarked trail. From the top, go 13 paces at 230 degrees along the path. Imagine, surrounding you, the great city where the Rohirrim once dwelled with King Theoden, their mighty leader. Now look straight ahead to a tree growing on a rock and find a lost treasure, long forgotten…

You can return the way you came or follow the orange trail and Vista signs for a nice overlook view.
