This letterbox was part of the 2011 GO and Explore Your World! program, and was available from June 1, 2011 - September 5, 2011. Stay tuned for the 5th annual GO York program, to start in June 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Explore Your World! program uses checkpoints - wooden posts with engraved plates attached to them - instead of traditional letterboxes and stamps. Please carefully rub an impression from the engraved plate into your Passport (program guide), available at any York County Library.

This letterbox can be accessed from the South George Street parking area at William H. Kain County Park. It is rated "hard" by GO York standards.

- Carefully cross George Street and walk along it (behind the fence to the right).
- Walk to the gravel road and follow it up to the top of the dam and across to the north shore.
- At the lone telephone pole, turn right onto trail #1. Away we go!
- Hike through a little patch of trees and evergreens with the lake on your right.
- Now into a replanted forest. Do you see the little trees poking up?
- With the lake at your back, start walking up the big hill.
- Near the top back into the woods we go. The roar of I-83 can now be heard.
- Look up. Your prize should be visible beneath the power lines.
- Finish the hill to loop around home. At the top make a left. You’re still on trail #1.
- Through the woods, under the power line, back into the woods now single file.
- Twist and turn around the hill, we’re back at the pole where you once stood. Follow the gravel back to the road.
- Please carefully cross back to the parking area.
