This letterbox was part of the 2011 GO and Explore Your World! program, and was available from June 1, 2011 - September 5, 2011. Stay tuned for the 5th annual GO York program, to start in June 2012. Information about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Explore Your World! program uses checkpoints - wooden posts with engraved plates attached to them - instead of traditional letterboxes and stamps. Please carefully rub an impression from the engraved plate into your Passport (program guide), available at any York County Library.

This letterbox can be accessed from the New Freedom parking lot of the Heritage Rail Trail. It is rated "hard" by GO York standards:

- Walk to the trail side of the New Freedom Train Station.
- With the train station to your back, turn right and head south.
- Looking both ways, you’ll cross first Franklin, Main, and then High Streets. Check out the mural of the Summer Cannery.
- Next cross McCullough Avenue; a sign awaits you on the right.
- You’ve reached the summit! Your goal is all downhill – follow the trail as it heads into the woods.
- Enjoying the shade, notice a trickle of water, this is Bee Tree Run.
- It’s on a journey too and will finish its trip all the way in the Chesapeake Bay.
- Pass under the Singer Street Bridge. It has been here since at least 1918.
- At Orwig Road, you’ll see your goal - the line laid out by Misters Mason and Dixon.
- The checkpoint is attached to the bulletin board.
