*You may want to try to solve the riddle and do a little research before you begin.

Time for another name that dog riddle! Start on the trail between the bathroom and the tank. Pass the hill that’s used for sledding in the winter-this type of dog probably wouldn’t like to come on winter outdoor adventures because they get cold very quickly with their short hair. As you continue on the trail, watch for a bench on your right. There will be two trails that break off to the left, but don’t take them. At the intersection with a bench, go on the left trail. When traveling through the pine forest, this dog would be easily distracted by squirrels, although according to its name, there is a larger animal it could be tracking. Continue on a long walk through the fallen pines. Coming to an intersection, this dog when hunting would pay no attention to the do not enter sign. Walk over the gravel and pass over a board walk that goes over a stream, then repeat that. Come to a bench-this dog wouldn’t need a rest though because although they would be satisfied with a short walk, they can also walk for long distances. Walk along the creek. This swampy area would make this dog’s massive black ears wet and muddy. That tree would make it hard for this dog to do its job. This hound chases raccoons up trees and bays loudly until the hunter arrives to shoot the prey down. So here’s one final hint to help you figure out the name of this breed. The two colors of this breed are included in this dog’s name. Hope you’ve figured it out! When you get to the intersection of four trails, to figure out which direction to go, you must figure out what year this dog breed was first recognized by the AKC. If it was:
1908 go behind you
1945 go left
1987 go strait
2006 go right.
If you’ve made the correct choice, you will come to a big hill. Don’t go up. Instead look for a tree on the left side, about 36 paces in, that’s split. Find the box where a raccoon would be hiding from this gentle but stubborn dog.
