July 20: Confirmed box still in place, just with more foliage protecting it.
In celebration of a great Mom (Yippee!) on this Mother's Day, this letterbox was prepared with artwork by S.K. Cleyo and support from Hotwheeler. The box is planted in the relatively new park which now graces our neighborhood. If it was opposite day, we'd call it WestStern park. Now that the weather is turning nice, the park is getting pretty busy (for its size) so it can be a challenge to letterbox stealthily. While the obvious features of the park - the playground and gravel trail - are nice, the real draw for kids is the creek and surrounding woods.
Enter the park at the main entrance, heading to the back of the play area.
Stand behind the memory of EHM and MJM.
head 17 paces NE along the trail.
Go 5 paces at 150 degrees to the low big rock near the creek edge.
A log rests just past the rock, and midway along it note the SPOR where the camo bag lies hidden.
Hopefully we'll find a better location in the park sometime soon to relocate the box. For now be super stealthy as it's not a very secluded area...
