I enjoy this rest area since it has river access and just wanted to share. Enjoy!
Directions to the park: Heading South on US highway 87/377, drive 8.2 miles from the last red light in Brady, TX (76825) (Wal-Mart being on left hand side) to the San Saba River bridge. Turn left into the roadside picnic area and park.
Directions to the box: On the right hand side as you pull into the entrance is a grove of oak and cedar trees. There you will find, located between an oak and a cedar tree, a large rock protruding from the ground. The box is buried under the slanted side of the rock which has markings of an “X”. The box is buried roughly about 6 inches down to keep rodents out. Be sure to bring a small spade and/or gloves. And as always, please hide well.
