We have a new baby,
But we still want boxes to do.
So we’re starting a series,
Of plants that are new.

Each of them will be doable,
With a stroller on the go.
I guess we should clarify,
Just so you will know.

The conveyance we use,
Is not of the umbrella style.
You must use something for trails,
Or these trips will take awhile.

They are not drive-bys,
So don’t get confused.
To help you along,
There is a scale that we used.

(1) are the most basic,
A paved trail you will find.
Then we get to (2),
If unpaved paths you don’t mind.

When we get into (3),
You might think us crazy.
As you will find,
To do these you can’t be lazy.

On this scale of ours,
You can count on bumps that they’ve got.
Or if they are ‘smooth’,
Then that means flat they are not.

At (4) we end our scale,
To note trails beyond three.
How can we describe them,
How difficult will they be?

An example, you say,
Just to give you some notion.
Well, if you have to pick up the baby,
It could be anything, even an ocean.

We hope you have fun,
And bring a baby along.
With the whole family out,
How can it go wrong?

_______

You can always go boxing,
Whether a nice day or not.
We’ve done this hike
In both cold and in hot.

You’ll find this preserve
In the county of Cook.
Beverly Lake is the name,
A ski map might help you to look.

The ground there is not level
And of dirt and grass so you see,
We decided to deem
The trail stroller level 3.

Even if it is raining,
It is not time no fear.
You’ll want to go boxing,
The Cat In The Hat is near.

As you go DOWN
DOWN
DOWN
DOWN…on passed A,
And you’ll spot a small lake.
With it on your right,
Soon you’ll reach B, no mistake.

As you went down,
Now you must go back up.
Hey, that just the trail,
I’m not making this up.

Boxing I said,
Would be fun, for sure.
If I blabbed about hills,
Would there have been an allure?

Now go up to the left,
And when you reach C,
Go left and then zig-zag
Right through the prairie.

A red box with a hook,
With two Things to play?
Hey that’s in the book,
But not out here, I say!

So you’ll turn to the right,
And watch out for small snakes.
We saw one right here
And haste we did make!

A side note 'bout here,
I have got to warn.
If you miss the right turn,
You end near a barn.

Take a left at the F,
You are almost there.
Do you see the signs,
They seem most everywhere!

First easy, then hard,
and then easy again.
Then left towards more difficult,
Won’t this quest ever end?!

And now what do we see?
Yikes, CAUTION! ahead.
The sign is written in red
Like the hat on Cat’s head.

We are close to the box,
I can’t wait to see!
Where a small trail branches off,
Look left inside the multi-trunked tree.

To return to your car,
Don’t go down that branched trail
But keep going straight.
You surely won’t fail.

The path is easy twice more.
Pass E, then D, and then C.
Finally go left and then soon
Your car you will see!

You did it! Congrats!
We hope you had fun.
Please send us a note,
Now that your journey is done.
