Entrance Fee: $4 a day/$20 a year

Clues: Fun and easy (take your compass)
Terrain: Moderate - alternating level and rolling hills, some sandy portions and others are rocky.
Distance: .75 to 1 mile to the box by each route.

Predmore Road Entrance:
The Meadows Route:

Begin where black snakes wind as ribbons on the brown...

A CLUSTER OF OAKS welcomes you to open meadow...

Where the trail winds among MANY SMALL PINES...

Soon enough the meadow ends and you DESCEND into forest...

Along the ROCKY TRAIL...

At the bottom you've pounded the rocks to FINE, FINE SAND...

Wind your way up the trail...

A stand of BIRCHES on your LEFT...

Open and closed is the sky as you move on...

A huge stand of CONIFERS on the RIGHT...

East-West trail JUNCTION...

18 and you want WEST...

More massive CONIFERS on your RIGHT...

Slight rise, gradual descent...

Twinned and twinned again SOUTH of you...

Wind on a bit, gentle descent again...

Massive TWINS JOINED AT THEIR BASE...

A pace west, now 7 at 300°...

Down to to where you crouch down where the JAGGED FALLEN FINGER POINTS...

Find yourself looking at the NETWORK OF FINGERS CLUTCHING a massive fistful of earth...

Where the wood is slowly going to earth, look down and slightly beneath in a nest of bark and twigs and there your desire you'll find.

Lake George Entrance:
The Forest Route:

Begin at things you CAN AND CAN'T...

15 16 mark your way forward...

The GREAT HAVE FALLEN by means unknown...

A BASIN filled with emerald back among the trees to the west...

The BIGGEST ROCK you'll see on your quest...

270° W a QUINTUPLET OF SENTINELS stand...

East of you a fallen MINI STONEHENDGE cringing beneath a tree...

Curve south, winding west and south...

TWIN TRAILS through the conifer conglomerate...

TRAIL JUNCTION continue on 17 (west)...

Now, how to get there: Rochester Road north (you'll pass Orion, Dunn, and Buell Roads), turn west onto Stoney Creek Road. Follow the road west to a stop sign. If you continue west it becomes Clarkston road. Turn right (going North) continue on, the pavements ends and you'll pass a new middle school on your right (east). The intersection past the middle school is Predmore Road. From here you can either continue slightly north to the west entrance (Forest Clues) or turn left (west) and less that .25 miles on your right (north side of Predmore) you'll find the starting point for the Meadow Clues. Have fun and enjoy, it's a good walk!

The trail system is open to mountain biking. During hunting season, it is also open to hunters.
