I may be over 150 years old but I still act like a teenager! A few years ago I helped reunite a couple of clown fish along the East Australian Current. The name’s Crush!

If you haven’t been to the Newport Aquarium, you really should put it on your “to do” list. Not far from the Aquarium at the confluence of the Licking & Ohio Rivers, there is a park named for General James Taylor (not the singer!). Park near the playground and follow the blacktop path up to the area that encircles the flag pole. Stop to read some interesting history of the area and climb the stairs to finally have a seat at the base of Old Glory. A fantastic view into Great American Ballpark awaits you. Once done, turn directly around and you’ll spy a marble pillar next to a set of concrete stairs across the roadway. Make your way to those stairs and proceed to the top. Turn right and follow to the end of the black iron rail. Turn left 90o (Southeast) and look straight down the hill; along the chain link fence is a Catalpa tree. Crush is hiding under a rock at the base of the tree.

WARNING: Do not attempt this one on Labor Day Weekend. It’s crawling with people then. OTHER INFO: This is my first ever carve and plant and due to high waters, I wasn’t able to put it where I wanted. I may move it later.
