Located in Larus Park- Bon Air -south of James River
From the intersection of Buford Road and Hugeunot Road travel north (towards the Huguenot Bridge) approximately .1 miles , turn left onto an unmarked driveway between the Firehouse and the Shell/Faststop (8800 Huguenot Road). Go behind the firehouse to the parking area. Look for a brown trail sign nearby. This first section can be muddy after recent rain. At the first fork bear right, there will be a semi-clearing where a house site used to be. Continue down the trail passing a bench on the left then crossing a small bridge. When you reach the next bench, stop, turn around and take 13 adult paces back towards where you just came from. You should see a large root ball with red clay in front of you. You are now roughly equal distance between the root ball and the bench behind you. You are now going to go off trail. Facing the root ball look to your left directly perpendicular to the trail. Follow that course about 30 adult paces to the dead tree that has a V shape with maximum height of 20 feet. The box is hidden at the base of the tree.
