There are two large Bend signs carved out of bushes, one on the North end of town, heading south on Third St. you could see it off to your right at the on ramp to the Bend Parkway. The other sign is at the South end of town, you could see it if you were heading north on 97 off to the right as you exit to Third St. You wont actualy be able to see either of these beautiful Bend signs from the starting point.
WARNING: THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A SOLO HUNT. YOU NEED A DRIVER WITH EYES ON THE ROAD ONLY OR ONE WHO PULLS OVER AT MILE MARKINGS OF INTEREST AND A NAVIGATOR TO READ CLUES AND INFORM DRIVER OF UPCOMING POINTS BY WATCHING THE ODOMETER. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND CLUE ONE AND THE STARTING POINT BEFORE HEADING OUT. PLEASE BE SAFE AND USE YOUR COMMON SENSE TO PROTECT ALL HUMANS AND WILD LIFE ON THIS JOURNEY. I have included a fill in the blank feature for your entertainment on this ride, it is not nesasary to complete this to enjoy or finish your journey although it my help you in pinpointing the box loctions for sign to sign revisited.
I added more fun to this journey 3\19\11, so please look up "sign to sign revisitd" for the clues to make journey complete.
I added a second box at the Bend sign on the south end of town, and milage from the La Pine starting point. If you were to start in La Pine you will want to park on the corner of Burgess and 97 , find the La Pine box then reset your odometer at Burgess and 97 to zero then head in the direction of santas workshop or the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ lights and use the milage clues on the right from the bottom up. happy hunting.
CLUES: For the Bend sign box. Wether you make this the first or second box on your journey, you will stand in front of the Bend sign on the south end of town. Stand at the edge of the grass line faceing the letter "B" you will pace along the edge of grass line on the Western side of the "B" aproximately 38 paces, you will find your prize below the tower, above the rock , and behind the stone. PS be sure to bring the clues for "Welcome to Bend" by Camp-N-Stamp and remember to have a great time.
I dont know why but I had to put a slash mark ( / ) in to keep my space in the two word fill in the blank sections,and ''''''' to keep the La Pine to bend mileage on the right. I am sorry if this looks confusing.
