Recommended Ink: red & brown

Designed and constructed by German-born and educated architect Dietrich Einsiedel in 1891, the Jackson Brewery was the largest independent brewery in the south and the tenth largest single-plant brewery in the country. It took its name from nearby Jackson Square and produced Jax beer until 1974 when it closed. The old brewing & bottling house for Jax Beer has been converted into a center for shops & restaurants and is well worth a visit even if you can't enjoy a cold Jax beer.

Directions:
From I10 in New Orleans, exit into the French Quarter and park close to Jackson Square.

Clues:
Go to the statue of Andrew Jackson in Jackson Square (closed at dark). From the tail of his horse, walk 22 steps on cement path, turn left and go 15 steps on another cement path to beginning of long iron bench and sit. The Jax Brewery should be visible through a multi-trunk palm tree in front and a little left of you. The microbox is hanging about 6 inches within the hedge directly behind the end of the bench at seat level. Please be discreet and replace as described.
