The Demark Memorial Fitness Trail letterbox series is located at the Memorial Hospital, 3073 White Mountain Hwy, North Conway, NH. The trail starts around the back, on the right.

Many thanks to Maire's Facets for updating me when the stations changed.

This series contains five boxes, each dedicated to things to do on the trail. Only the final box contains a logbook, pen and ink. All other boxes are microboxes, about the size of a film canister, and contain only the stamp.

This series was placed with the hope that the stamps are available year-round. If there is snow on the ground, please take steps to cover your tracks – create false trails, etc., to prevent muggling.

Enter the fitness trail. At the first fork, set your course at 90 degrees. Continue to the log jump, and go left. Soon you will arrive at the tricep dips (#4). Stand directly in front of the sign for the step-up, and set a course for 138 degrees. Travel 20 single steps to a 2 and a half sister birch. Biking is located in the crook of the tree with the half sister. Rehide well and return to the trail, and continue on your way.

Continue until you see a sign for the fitness trail with an arrow, and a small bridge down a slight hill. Stop before going over the bridge. Stand at the sign, and look back where you came from. Return back 20 single steps. To your right, about 15 single steps in, is a birch (????) tree, fallen to the ground - (cross country skiing was replaced 7/5/18. At this time there are several, large, fallen birch trees right in this area. The downed tree you seek runs generally east/west. The box is in the hollow of the root end, approximately 3 feet from the root end). Rehide well and return to the trail and cross the bridge, and continue down the trail.

Do some planks. (note: here is the original clue, but it appears the stup has fallen over - new clues follow) Take a reading of 320 degrees and see a large (about 3 feet high) upright stump, 15 single steps away. In the top of the stump, covered by a piece of bark, is Snowshoeing. Rehide well, and continue along the trail. New Clue - Standing at the sign for planks, take a reading of 130 degrees and see a stump (about 2 feet high) 18 paces away. Box is in the top of the stump under some leaves. (thanks to murray1113 for rehiding).

Continuing on the trail, you soon come to a fork. Go right at this point. Continue to the push up station. From the edge of the push up bar, continue 90 single steps farther along the trial. On your left will be two large (about 21/2 feet across) pine trees. The train tracks are beyond these trees. Between the two large pine trees are two stumps, one about 4 feet high, the other shorter. Walking is hidden under the tree which fell, leaving the shorter stump, hidden by some sticks. Rehide well and continue along the fitness trail.

Following the trail to the right, find the knee tuck station. From the knee tuck station, take the faint trail at 40 degrees. From the knee tuck sign, take 25 single steps down the faint trail. About 10 steps in, on the left, is a 2-sistered pine tree, with a dead log wedged in between. Wedged in the crook, in the back of the tree, is the final stamp (I think people sometimes replace this box at the base of this tree). Stamp in the logbook.

Return to the main trail, and follow back to your car.
