**** Part of the Emigrants of Texas Series ******

William Neese bought the property where where this old home stands in 1854, after coming to Texas in 1847. He built the nome for his family while they lived in a primitive cabin. Unfortunately a few years after completion, Neese was killed by a burgler in one of his stores he owned. He is buried in Drawe Cemetery where this box is hidden. Another interesting fact about of the land where the Neese home stands is that it was originally owned by John Robison, who was killed by indians about one mile from where the house stands. Also, his son Joel is the one who captured Santa Anna (story in other letterbox).

Directions:
From Warrenton, go north on Hwy 237. Turn right on FM 954, then soon take a left on Schuttle Rd. Wind around on this road for about 3 miles until you come to Drawe Cemetery on the left. Pull in the 2nd enterance at the tombstones and go straight back to end and park.

To the Letterbox:
Walk right along the fence passing "Mischer" grave, then go a little right to large cedar behind "Kaper" tombstone. Facing this stone, go to the left side of the big cedar tree. Find the hole about 3 feet up. Box is in the hole, with rocks in front. PLEASE placed rocks in there when you are done so the don't fall out.
