Planted at kraP etatS kreeC yeldiR, available through January 2011. Most of the "boxes" contain stamps only and are very small; box 1 contains the logbook. The clues are written to start with box 12 & work back to box 1, but they can easily be reverse engineered if you'd like to have the stamps in numerical order. (However, be advised that doing so would mean you'd have to go from box 1 to box 2 and then back to box 1, then to box 3 and back to boxes 2 and 1, then to box 4 and back to boxes 3, 2 and 1, etc.... and it will take a LOT longer to complete the series! LOL) The images are from drawings by my niece Megan, who was bored one day in study hall. :)

Park in the Mansion parking lot, pick up a trail map if you would like one, and then head over to enjoy the gardens. Work your way down through the different sections, and then turn right on the trail that heads away from the house. Pass between two benches and keep going to a third bench with a large fallen tree behind it. From the back of this bench, take 8 steps along the tree. Box 12 is under bark where the knot of the tree touches the ground.

Head back to the black bench you passed earlier, then downhill to control 9. After crossing the bridge, turn right and look for the 3-trunked evergreen. Box 11 is in the higher crotch of the tree.

Go back to the trail & turn right. At the T intersection take a left and then stay straight until coming to the paved multi-use trail. Turn right on the paved trail and continue to a small unmarked trail on the right, directly across from pole 170. Box 10 is on the right (N) side of the 2nd pine tree.

Continue down the pine tree trail & left over the bridge onto the yellow trail. Eventually this trail winds around a large fallen log on the left. Look in the Y of the log under bark for box 9.

Up, up, up! You'll be glad when the trail levels out, and you see a beech tree on the left that Rob & Becky visited on 3/21/10. Take a look on the right side of the tree for box 8.

Continue on the trail past the pines and downhill. Shortly before reaching a clearing, turn left on the small trail between the two Safety Zone signs. Step over the first log across the trail, and at the 2nd look for Box 7 where it meets the tree on the left.

Return to the yellow trail and cross the small stream. At the next Safety Zone sign, look across the trail to a pointed rock. Box 6 is behind the pointed rock under sticks.

Continue on to the tree with the yellow <----> . From this tree, count 5 blazes--2 on the left, 3 on the right--Five Gooold Blazes! :) Box 5 is under the log beside the tree with the 5th blaze. (If you reach a post with a yellow ring, you've gone too far.)

Past the post with the yellow ring, take the paved path to the right. When you come to the remains of a shed, look for box 4 between the rock & log on the left side of the trail.

Keep going on the trail, between 2 boulders, and then look for 2 large rocks on the right with a flat rock in front and a tree d'amour behind them. Box 3 is at the back of the tree, below Cork & Jen.

Continue along the trail, at the intersection go left around the bend and up the hill. As the mansion & gazebo come into view, look for a small tree on the right with a triangle branch. A broken branch & SPOR hide box 2.

Uphill some more, at the 3-way intersection go left & cross the pavement. On the right you'll see the old greenhouse & some large box bushes. On the left, look for a pile of cut logs in front of a hollow tree. Box 1 is in the pile of logs, beside the tiny sapling growing out of the pile toward the left.

Taking the next turn onto the paved path will take you on the yellow trail past the greenhouse back to the parking lot. Or you can go back to the paved path you passed & take it back to the gardens.
