The Muttontown Preserve is a beautiful hiking location, and well worth checking out even if you do not find this letterbox.

Begin at the Nature Center and take the path to the left. Go right at the first fork until you get to a trail marker that says "6A." Look to your left, and you will see a narrow foot path leading up a hill. Follow the path to the top. To the left you will see a fallen, hollowed out tree with two distinct holes in it. The letterbox (which is actually a black plastic water bottle) is stuffed in the right end of this log.
