Road to Eagle Trail

Box #1: Scout- Head south into the King Property entrance. At the gate look for the big log.

Box #2: Tenderfoot- Congratulations on becoming a Scout! To reach Tenderfoot you need to follow the yellow trail 200 degrees (south). At the fork in the trail, head 255 degress (west) until you see the old tree house and orange swing. Then head 230 degrees (SW) off the trail and find the Tenderfoot box by the big mossy rock. N 41* 30' 37.9" W 72* 44' 16.2"

Box #3: 2nd Class- You are now a Tenderfoot and trying to rapidly advance to 2nd Class! Go back to the trail and continue 290 degrees (W) up the yellow trail. Once over the rocky plain look for the "Lightening Strike" tree. Now find the "Fingers Crossed" tree behind it you'll reach 2nd Class. N 41* 30' 36.4" W 72* 44' 23.9"

Box #4: 1st Class- Turn around and go back to the fork in the yellow trail near the entrance. Go up the other fork 140 degrees (S) and find the "Leaning Tower" tree on the SW side of the trail. N 41* 30' 34.2" W 72* 44' 15.6"

Box #5: Star- You are climbing the ranks quickly! Lets go star gazing and camping now! Go 200 degrees (S) along the rocky trail and find the Shagbark Hickory tree and a tree with spidery roots heading west along the rock wall in the campsite. You will find the next box there. N 41* 30' 29" W 72* 44' 18.5"

Box #6: Life- So close now! Let's start heading home. Head back 40 degrees down the trail towards the entrance. Pass the "Leaning Tower" tree and start looking for the Beech trees. On the SE side of the trail is a tree stump. Does moss grow on a rolling tree stump? N 41* 30' 34.6" W 72* 44' 14.7"

Box #7: Eagle- Someone else did a big Eagle Scout Project up here. Head there. The Eagle has landed there is you take a "dog leg" 150 degrees (SE) off the trail! You'll find the Eagle nesting in the downed trees. N 41* 30' 36.7" W 82* 44' 12.9"

Congratulations! You have successfully traveled the road to Eagle!
