UPDATE!: We had to pull this series, as 2 of three boxes were MIA! We will recarve, replant & relist ASAP!

When we started this series, we were going to call it: "Doggles, Joggles & Bikles" because we "coined" these terms on letterboxing.org & they are in the glossary there, but the placement we came up with, Golden Garden Ponds, dictated a different title. Hence, "On Golden Ponds". There are 3 ponds in this system, with gravel & bark-o-mulch paths. This land was originally aquired by the city as a gravel quarry for the building of Beltline Hwy. & the overpasses. Bait fishing is allowed, so bring your pole if you like, but we've never caught anything there.
Find yourself heading west on Barger Dr. toward Danebo Ave., but just BEFORE Danebo is Golden Garden St. on your right. Follow this to the end & park near the info kiosk, on Jessen Dr.

Box #1 JOGGLES (Muggles who are jogging): Walk around the kiosk & down the gravel road/path. You will cross a nice bridge. Do you see the grove of trees ahead? At the start of the curve, take the bark trail on the right. There's a path on the right that goes into the grove. Follow that into the trees. About 3/4 of the way through the grove, spy the huge hollowed out tree (and I do mean hollowed out! But it's still alive!!) Around to the right side is a smaller, hollow in the root. Reach in & to the left, tight against the inside is the box with a small chunk of wood on top.

Box #2 DOGGLE (Dogs on the trail usually followed by muggles): Back to the bark trail. Go right. Nice walk around the North Pond. Stay on this bark trail as it veers left (see the sign?) Now go straight & do not leave this bark path. You are now coming to the west side of the Main Pond (trail curves left). Walking...Soon this path splits the Main Pond & the South Pond. Take not the small trail that leads to a boardwalk and boat ramp. Soon, come to a gravel road. Crossing it, you'll walk past the bridge on your right. From here, the box is approximately 143 steps. Find the grassy trail along the canal & past the first small grove of trees to your right. Find a small social path that leads right, toward the canal. Now you are walking atop an embankment with the slope & canal to your right. Pass another line of trees (this group on the left). A little further past this, see a small clump that has 4-5 smallish trunks growing together. On the South side, at the base, between a piece of CHICKEN WIRE & the trunk is the box you're looking for, covered with sticks & debris.

Box #3 BIKLE (obviously, a muggle on a bike): Back to the road. Ok...I know that you know where you are now. Walk across the bridge. To your right is a wide gravel trail. Follow this to the "Y" & hang a left. Walk into the clearing in the center of the grove of trees. There is a slight depression on the right (probably a puddle in the winter). **Facing the depression, notice the small group of trees to the left. They all look the same, but turns out the third one back is the only willow tree (don't know if you can tell that when the leaves fall off). On that third tree, down low, what starts to grow as a root, has turned into a branch growing slightly up! The box is under the root with leaves, a small branch & debris on it. **Alternate clues for winter when depression is filled w/water: Stand facing the depression, notice the hiding place as described, but hug close to the "bank" of the puddle & duck under/around low branches, or walk around the group of trees & approach from the south.

Hope you enjoy this little park & as always, please carefully reseal & rehide so they are not visable from all angles.
