north east of Wausau off hwy52 and county Y
This box has been planted awhile but I finally have written clues. We wanted to do picture clues but the area kept changing on us.
Start at the parking lot and enjoy the falls
Take the trail with the yellow blaze (strip) and follow the ice age trail
Heading in a northerly direction and follow the river down stream
This part of the trail doesn’t matter that much as long as you watch for the bridge that crosses the water.
Cross the bridge and follow the forest preserve trail
Passing:
The tree on stilts
A small wooden foot bridge
A sign for Sandberg island
Fences of pipe (I think these were removed)
Fences of rock
Fences of chain (this one too)
Head to the place of private lands almost to the place the river meets itself again
Notice a large clump of trees that stand in front of the sign a squirrel sleeps beneath a down tree.
