An eagle feather represents honor. It's a symbol of character displayed. It's a symbol of a principled life in action and more than anything it's an indication that the people whose lives touch ours have recognized a special contribution, a valuable addition we've made to the circle of humanity. They are a device we use to connect ourselves to, and remind ourselves of, the essential spiritual nature of our lives.

Canfield-Meadow Woods Nature Preserve in Essex and Deep River ~
Park on Book Hill Woods Road. Begin the hike as you pass around the gate and go down the hill. Take the Blue trail on your left until you reach the Orange trail, cross the bridge and follow Orange to the left [it also goes right]. Soon at next intersection take the Yellow trail going left. Follow Yellow that will take a nice climb and as you circle Eagle Rock and start to descend from the highest point, look under a large boulder on your right that appears to have a beak or perhaps a cap. After stamping in, stay on Yellow trail going down and meeting the Orange trail. Go right on Orange, left over the bridge and left on Blue. At the end of Blue, go right up the hill and back to your car.
