Level of Difficulty: Easy – flat, paved bike trail
Length: 1.2 miles Round-trip

Plant It For The Planet is planted on the Canalway Bike Trail in Canajoharie, NY.

**You will need your own ink.

Directions:

In Canajoharie, travel on Erie Blvd (Route 5S) to Roosevelts Collision which is next to MW Roosevelt & Son, Inc (210 Erie Blvd). There is a road across the street from Roosevelts Collision with no name. Turn onto that road and the bike trail and its parking lot are on the right.

Clue:

After parking, bike or hike down the trail.

Continue on the trail until you come to a bench on the left.

Just pass the bench is stump with a tree next to it.

Behind the tree and under many layers of bark is Plant It For The Planet.

**Please bury it under the bark again so it looks natural to anyone sitting or standing near the bench. Thanks!!

*** This section of the bike trail goes all the way to Lock 15 (roughly 3.5 miles long). It is a really nice ride and worth the trip. We saw lots of birds including a blue heron, boats, and a couple of trains while at the Lock. If you choose to ride there, once you get into Fort Plain (just past the Save A Lot) on the bike trail, you will see a green bike trail sign pointing away from the bike trail to the road. DO NOT TAKE IT. Stay straight and it goes right to the Lock.
