A beautiful weekend in Sunny Central Oregon became a letterboxing hayday for The Lennen's 3 and The Fleshmans!!! This has been place by Carie and her brother John!!
To Eagle Crest: Hwy 97 to Redmond. Take Hwy 126 West towards the Sisters ( Highland Rd.) Follow road about 5 miles to Cline Falls Hwy, and follow signs to Eagle Crest Resort. (approx. 1 1/2 miles)
To the letterbox: Enter Eagle Crest's left hand entrance and follow Falcon Crest Drive straight to the South end of the parking lot. (Park in the parking lot for the old location of the restaurant "NIBLICK AND GREEN'S" ) Facing the old restaurant, a asphalt path leads off to the right. Take this path and head down towards the river. A rotting stump of a juniper tree points the way. From the stump proceed 47 paces to a resting spot. Sit and enjoy the scenery. Straight ahead of you, 40 paces across the dusty trail is a pair of small juniper trees with a stack of 3 in the middle of them. Your treasure lies between a crevice and moving rocks. PLEASE use extreme caution, remember this is rattlesnake coutry. Be careful where you walk and the holes you put your hands in to.
