Aunt Sarah was proudly placing her strawberry pie on the table at the Annual Strawberry Festival at Community Village in Saginaw Township. She had been saving a perfect strawberry to put on top of her pie. Carefully, she pulled the perfect strawberry out of her left coat pocket. Then woops! A chipmunk scampered up on the table, took the strawberry right off the pie and scurried off with it.

“Oh you little rascal!” shrieked Aunt Sarah. She ran after the chipmunk. She followed the chipmunk to Harvey Wickes Park at 7499 McCarty Rd and saw him run toward Wickes Pavilion 1. Her poor old heart was racing a mile a minute so she just watched for a bit and saw him run past the fishing pier then up the hill to a trail head.

Determined to get back what was rightfully hers, she went to the trail head and followed the chipmunk's footprints down the trail and over the bridge. The prints were leading her around the pond. She noticed disc-golf basket #5 and knew she also had to be wary of flying discs! What a day!

Aunt Sarah stopped at basket #5 and saw the mischievous rodent turn left. She followed in hot pursuit, moving as fast as her little old legs could go. Soon she could see tee #6. She stopped, looked right, and saw him sitting in a little clearing, looking out over some water. She tried to sneak up on him but he caught on and scampered up a trail on the left. Up went Aunt Sarah after him, panting and very grateful for the bench at the top. She rested, thinking the chipmunk had pulled off his theft after all.

Suddenly, she heard a soft snoring further down the trail. Could it be the tired chipmunk napping after his escapade? She stood up and continued 55-60 steps past the bench. The snoring got louder - she tiptoed up to a large multi-trunker on the right of the trail. There in the middle the chipmunk had made a nest! He actually looked like a little darling sleeping there, cradling the strawberry. Nevertheless, Aunt Sarah gently pried her strawberry from his sleeping arms.

Please re-hide well and log in online so I know the condition of the box. To get back to your car, go back past the bench to tee #5. Once there, you can either go back the way you came or (preferred), turn left and finish your walk around the pond. You will be back at the pavilion after a short walk across the grassy area. Enjoy!
